“Shaker Heights CC is a wonderful Donald Ross layout playing over an undulating property in the near-Cleveland suburbs. This is a great site for golf, with hills, creeks, and ravines just the right size for 18 engaging golf holes. The front nine plays back and forth over a shallow creekbed that forms into a bit of a ravine into which the back nine plays. Memorable holes abound here, and one can see how Ross reveled at his routing decisions, including the wild 5th green at the end of one of the course's longest par fours, the semi-blind approach to #8, the uphill 270-yard 10th, the rollicking short par four 12th, the cute uphill par three 16th coming out of the ravine, and the great finishing approach to a green hanging over the ravine wall."
