“A great golf course at an amazing price if you are a NY State Resident. At 7,000 yards from the back this course plays much longer with multiple mid size par 4s stretching up hill and usually into the wind. It's always windy in Montauk. Hole 12 is a par 3 that on any given day could be a 9 iron or driver depending on the wind. Get ready for a test of golf if the greens keeper has the greens firm and fast. This is a beauty of course with water coming into play on multiple holes and situated exactly where you don't want it to be. Many holes will offer a great risk/reward scenario if you are feeling up to the task. Take a cart unless you are looking to shed a few pounds. Be aware when you book that you are in for a solid 4.5-5 hr and sometimes longer round of golf. It's right up there with Bethpage Black for an all day affair. Early morning tee times are usually swallowed up by the earlier risers and those that choose to sleep overnight to get prime time spots. Yes, the rumors are true about camping overnight. It's the only way to ensure a sub 5hr golf round in the summer, especially on the weekends. Go when the cherry blossoms are out in the spring and you'll be hooked for life."
