Great Gorge Golf Club: Lakeside

Review

“Great Gorge is a fascinating 27-hole public course in Northwestern NJ. The property was originally part of Hugh Hefner's Playboy Club, but the hotel and resort fell on hard times and are now abandoned. The courses are still in play and among the better public courses in the state. The Lakeside 9 is my favorite of the nines and features some well-designed holes on a hilly, forested property. The course begins with an exhilarating teeshot downhill through a chute of trees and features several holes that play right on a meandering creek."
