Overview
This turn-of-the-century Donald Ross design sits in an outstanding setting. Despite being the flattest “mountain” course you will ever play, nearly every hole has a view of mountains (in every direction) or the spectacular 19th century mountain resort hotel. The course has many of the classic Ross elements: plateau greens with roll-offs in all directions, optical illusions of greenside bunkers that are actually 30-40 yards in front of greens, bunkers canted to face the direction of play, etc.

“A fun course in the meadow under the famous Mt. Washington and the cog railroad to the the top. Must stay at the hotel to play."

“Exceeded my expectations. Set within beautiful surroundings and a historic hotel, this place exudes New Hampshire."

“A classic Donald Ross design in a spectacular mountain setting. The course is flat and fairly short, and a reasonably straight driver could go quite low. Greens are tricky if stimped high enough. Course had maintenance issues when I played, so don't expect pristine rough and smooth cart paths (embarrassing given the in-season rates charged at the hotel). Noisy gas-powered carts detract from the idyllic setting, and the routing is fairly mundane."

“Mount Washington is a wonderful, historic Donald Ross design located at the Mount Washington Omni Resort. Sitting at the base of the tallest mountain in New England, this is a rugged and hilly course with plenty of fun and elevation changes. While conditioning certainly is lacking, this is surely one of the best public options in the Granite State and New England as a whole."

“The Ross Course at Omni Mt. Washington is a fun resort course at the foot of Mount Washington. Redesigned and re-furbished by Brian Silva, additional yardage has brought the back tees to just over 7000 yards. This has created some long walk backs (3rd hole, 14 etc) and a few awkward looks (from the tips) but overall, a fun and enjoyable experience. Unnaturally flat for sitting at the base of Mount Washington, much of the trouble off the tee (bunkers) are barely visible or their yardage is indiscernible off the tee. Some repetition on the par 4's with respect to fairway bunker complexes. Greens in very good shape and varied in size and shape. Some traditional and typical Ross features. The back 9 is a more varied and interesting group of holes."

“Not as much elevation as you may be expecting but a solid course all around. Make sure to pay attention to the course design or you'll end up in an unexpected stream or bunker. The course is in good shape and very playable. It plays shorter than it's listed yardage except for one fairly steep dogleg right on the back nine. The resort is fantastic. There's tennis, hiking, horseback riding and anything else you can think of to do outdoors. It's very family friendly so bring everyone because there is enough to do to keep the rest of the family busy while you tee it up."
