“Shot options: This course has good shot options on the approach shots, as most greens are raised, and many have subtle challenges around them if you don't hit them. ; Hole by Hole comments:Hole #1: fairly easy drive, wide fairway. Elevated green forces solid approach. ; Hole #2: Very good hole, modest option with drive, can play wide left for easier drive, or hug right side for shorter approach. Slightly elevated green requires solid approach; Hole #3: uphill 255 yard par 3 into narrow green with false front. Borderline too hard, certainly no options here. ; Hole #4: relatively easy hole, with wide fairway and one of easier greens. Only concern is if hole is on left side, not to miss right; Hole #5: Wide fairway and large hill to shortish par 5 means you need length or have a short but blind 3rd shot. ; Hole #6: Excellent hold, with bunker on corner that forces players to choose line carefully. Green tightly bunkered and slightly raised, requires solid shot in; Hole #7: Long uphill par 3, but fair given you can roll up a hybrid or long iron. ; Hole #8: Wide fairlway, but bunker 30 years short forces decision. Excellent green requires good putting; Hole #9: Straight and straight forward par 4 that needs drive in fairway; Hole #10: Short, dogleg left around pond. Good options on the drive. Green is well protected and can produce birdies and doubles; Hole #11: Looks like wide open long par 3, but dropoff on left side requires precise long iron to sloped green; Hole #12: Wide fairways, but no flat lies, and very sloped green makes approach shot not easy; Hole #13: wide fairway for short par 4, raised green not hard to hit with short shot; Hole #14: Wide fairway, but well protected green doesn't make this a pushover par 5; Hole #15: One of tighter drives, and needs to be well placed, because approach needs to be solid; Hole #16: Big green, but well bunkered; Hole #17: Drive not hard, but possibly one of best greens because makes you hit a solid shot; Hole #18: Drive makes you think because of water on left, and can't go right, approach shot easier; : Challenge: This course doesn't challenge the driver too much, but requires some solid iron play, with lots of raised greens. If you can get through the par 3's that are very long, can score here. ; Layout variety: Good change in elevation and routing. Could use a shorter par 3, with 3 of them over 220 yards and one longer par 5. ; Aesthetics: A pleasing walk in this parkland course; Conditioning: Its been a wet summer in MN, so few courses have firm fast greens. These rolled well given that, but not too fast. Found the bunkers to be quite variable with gravel-like sand. Will try to remember to ask golf pro to revisit greens later this fall if it dries out some, then would change this. ; Character: This is a reasonably good parkland course, with recent renovation greatly improved it. Greens have some good character, that are raised, with good slopes, that make you think. ; Fun: This would be a fun, everyday course for golfers of most skill"

“The back 9 is a lot of fun. The front is a little muted. I enjoy this more than Mpls or Interlachen."
