“Shot options: The shot options on the course are somewhat limited by the poor fairway bunkering on this course, could be a lot better. ; Hole by Hole comments:Hole #1: I have big issues with the fairway bunker off the tee, it serves no purpose for the longer golfer, but punishes the worse players the worse they are. Love the approach shot to this slightly elevated green. ; Hole #2: Think the fairway bunker doesn't belong, could find other ways to make this hole a good one. The really long players don't see this bunker, but it’s a 1 shot penalty for everyone else. False front on green creates challenge. ; Hole #3: Well designed hole, with 3 different options off the tee, and need to know where pin is before tee off. Cant miss approach front right. Short par 4 that can be tough at times. ; Hole #4: Hole changes greatly between pin positions. Back left requires shot over bunker, front right has a false front, so can play very differently. ; Hole #5: I get the idea of the fairway bunker, but could be placed a lot better. Approach shot needs to be well struck. ; Hole #6: Poorly placed fairway bunkers, they aren't in play for longer hitters, but penalize others. Green is sneaky hard despite no bunkers in front. ; Hole #7: Hard par 3 with any wind, ; Hole #8: Good options and love the pin positions on right side and back left. ; Hole #9: Plenty of good options on this short par 4, can play very differently based on wind and pin position. ; Hole #10: Fairway bunkers that are 120 yards are badly placed, should be 75 yards closer. ; Hole #11: This may be the best designed hole on the course, as requires careful thought. Plays very differently based on pin position and wind. ; Hole #12: Once again, fairway bunker at 110 yards out is badly placed. Really good green, with false side on left is a big issue that screws with people's minds. ; Hole #13: Would be much better as a long par 4 (good to see they make it one for the back tees), and have started to change the green shape so it plays like it. Can go farther to change this. ; Hole #14: Requires precise tee shot, approach to front pin has danger from false front. ; Hole #15: Once again, badly placed fairway bunker. Excellent green that is shallow and has big rolloff on the back that creates a lot of anxiety. ; Hole #16: Great hole that requires long drive and precise approach. Green contour is amongst the best around anywhere in MN (other than my favorite, Northland CC's #12).; Hole #17: My default is to miss short right if not comfortable, so could be improved a bit. ; Hole #18: This is better as a short par 5, and I would take off bunker in middle of fairway on blind approach. Great diversity of pins on this large green. ; : Challenge: A lot of challenge is from the poorly placed fairway bunkers and the quick greens. I judge down from the fairway bunkers; Layout variety: Hard to get a lot of variety from a small property, hardly any doglegs. ; Aesthetics: As a former member of this course, I have always enjoyed the aesthetics of this course, as an suburban course that is on a small property in a residential neighborhood. ; Conditioning: Greens are very fast, even for a wet summer that MN had this year. ; Character: The character isn't all that high, and judged down from the bad fairway bunkering that Tom Lehman should fix fast. ; Fun: Greens that are fast and true are always a treat, and these are quite good. This course is a realtively easy walk because its on a small property."

“It's gotten better over the years but still needs more trees removed. The greens are really fun to putt on with true roll and speed. But the course feels like it's trying too hard to copy elements of everyone else and doesn't own their identity."

“Playable course that all can enjoy, with enough challenge for better players. Nothing spectacular but a solid course and operation."
