Overview
Braemar is a player-friendly public track just south of Minneapolis that offers wide, forgiving fairways. One of our panelists notes that the two nines play quite different, with the most compelling holes on the back side. In 1979, Braemar hosted the third edition of the since-discontinued U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links.

“Five par 5's, five par 3's and ten par4's make for a more unique par 72 layout. Holes 3 to 8 there are no par4's, and you play par 3, 5,3,5,3,5. Hole 4 is the best hole on the front with a split fairway. Play a blind 2nd shot up to the right and you may use the slope to run onto the green. Par 3 13th, if it had a name would be called Mt. Edina. A 100 foot drop from the back tees that overlooks several holes."

“A couple of holes have significant elevation changes and add to the design of the hole. Conditioning could use some improvement."

“An odd course with front and back nines that appear to have been designed by different architects at different times. The rather bland front nine is overshadowed by an excellent closing nine. Playable by all levels, the overall facility is exceptional, including an wide-array of practice area as well as a third nine that is geared to beginners. A model complex for introducing new players to the game and the 18 hole course, while uneven, is still well worth the time to play."
