“One of two courses at this site with wide holes, smallest greens, and good challenge."

“A grand clubhouse and facility awaits at Woodmont. US Open qualifying has taken place here for 35 years and it's a good course for shot options with many risk reward tee shots. Par 3's play similarly in yardage with flat shots and in two directions. 8 uphill approach shots versus 0 downhill elevates the challenge of the course but perhaps not the most fun. Lush, damp turf where greens can be slick."

“The North course well-deserves the showering of adoration from it's member and anyone else fortunate enought to get an invite to Woodmont. The golf course is always in terrific condition and provides a challenging test for good players while remaining playable for higher handicaps. Save one or two wonky holes, the golf course has a great feel and flow to it. Jump at the invite if it comes your way!"

“The challenge, conditioning and character of this course stand out as inevitable reasons why USGA has repeatedly chosen this venue as a final US Open qualifier for the past 3 decades. While several of the 'tips' used for professional events are not realistically used for every day play the shaved down areas around green complexes that double 50-100 yard extended back tees is visually impressive. Stone walls and walkways (at 2, 4, 6, 13, 15 w/ Swilken bridge and 17) accentuate pristinely crafted Hogan allies from tee boxes to well conditioned fairways. The bunkers are uniquely sculpted with rugged contours and even an infinity design at #5 and #15."
