Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate: National Course
Davenport, FL • Public
Overview
Featuring two Greg Norman designed championship courses as well as a lit nine-hole par-3 track, ChampionsGate is the perfect choice for an action-packed Orlando golf experience. The National course—the easier of the two layouts at the resort—plays through 200 acres of woodlands, wetlands and former orange groves. Though water comes into play on a few holes, there are few forced carries, making the course playable for the higher handicap.

“This resort has two very different courses. Would be a great destination for a buddies golf trip. The National course is much more friendly than the International. There are Generous fairways and some good risk reward holes like the driveable par 4 #17. Great practice facilities and also a short course. Top notch resort destination."

“Nothing exciting or interesting about the National course, you will not get your money’s worth here."

“A challenging yet playable Greg Norman designed course that wines through 200+ areas of secluded woodlands and wetlands. The course has more than 80 sculpted bunkers, numerous doglegs and picturesque water hazards. Water hazards (penalty areas) come into play on numerous holes but few require forced carries, meaning that the course is playable for all level of players. Conditioning was good with greens very good at tournament speeds."

“The second course at ChampionsGate I found to be in slightly worse condition and with a little less inspiration than the first (International). The length all comes at the end, with all holes being short until the final two par 5s come in at over 500 even from the white tees (600 from the tips). I also found the greens to be more inconsistent from speed and roll, leading to variations hole to hole, but not the predictable kind. All in all, however, it's a fine course if you are in the area—although for the money I would recommend Southern Dunes a few miles up the road to either course on this property."
