Overview
The second 18 holes at Toscana Country Club weren't completed until a few years ago, with the North Course's first nine holes and its 18th built at the time of the South course's completion. Toscana's North course fits in the Jack Nicklaus style, playing through and around beautiful arroyos and water features with bold green and bunker complexes. Holes are picturesquely framed by layers of landscaping and the surrounding mountains.

“California Desert Course with desert left and right of the fairways. Very well bunkered both on fairways and around the green complexes. Excellent greens with a variety of breaks. Flowering desert plants that are watered throughout the course so much more aesthetics and ambience than say a an Arizona desert course that has minimal flowering plants."

“Beautiful golf course if not highly memorable layout."

“Very well manicured and landscaped desert Jack Nicklaus design. Very strategic placed bunkers and waste areas made course knowledge very important. Layout design on most par 3s required precise knowledge of your club carry distance. Green undulations and speed made greens a challenge to read. Variety of depth of areas around the green from tightly mown to thick rough made it a penalty to miss the green . Eight different teeing options allowed for a challenge for all skill levels. If you can secure a tee time as a guest of a member, Toscana's North course is at the top-end of the Palm Springs-area courses."

“Toscana North is an excellently conditioned course. The conditioning and aesthetics are in my upper ranks of courses played. Designed variety lack a bit and so did Distinctiveness (some holes were very similar looking to others, I think mainly that the original land was somewhat ordinary and flat, so Nicklaus had little to work with). The clubhouse is impressive and high-end, but the cookie-cutter on-course homes detract from some of the beauty of the perfectly manicured course. Green complexes are interesting and tough, resulting is good Challenge. "

“The aesthetics and conditioning of the golf course are the highlights with many water features, boulders, Bougainvillea plants throughout."
