“Some of the craziest greens I can recall. Tons of slope in every one of them. Better bring your A putting game."

“A fun and unique course, set on an extreme piece of land. The routing is good, making use of the hills and creeks. It is a big walk, with lots of hills to contend with. Due to the piece of the land, some of the holes feel a bit cramped or forced, but it would have been hard to avoid. The conditions were excellent and the greens rolled true. Really enjoyed the green contours and surrounds, never a boring greenside shot or putt."

“I never tire of the NorCal rolling hills. This course is surrounded by them, with only a handful of homes along the southern end of the course. Great views of the Bay, plays longer than its stated yardage."

“Many improvements to the course, some really tough spots. Beautiful vistas from high points and on downhill holes. Greens over the top in some instances."

“This course went through a complete renovation with the "new" 18 being fully reopened in June 2022 (the front 9 reopened in July 2021). On date played, the course was in very good condition given the recently completed replanting and total rework of all 18 holes. There were no instances of ongoing work noted during play. Overall, the course was a challenge and very enjoyable to play. While it is relatively short (6360 yds from the championship (tips) tees), it effectively played longer given significant changes in elevation throughout, sea level conditions, deep fairway bunkers reducing fairway widths and significantly tiered / sloped greens impacting accuracy of approach shots. Round was played in the morning and as such, the course did not play extremely firm or fast and rollout was impacted by the up and down elevation changes. Additionally, the variety of hole lengths, sloping fairways, fairway obstacles (bunkers and overhanging trees), and a number of blind fairways (examples included 2, 13 and 14) created shot options off the majority of tees. Further, another example was the tee shot on 12 - a shot through a narrow chute of tall pines to a fairway approximately 100 downhill was required with a blind second shot to effectively access a landing area providing access to a medium sized tiered green protected by trees on the right side. The only somewhat level hole on the entire course was the 10th. Additionally, virtually no green was flat and most contained tiers with holes 8, 9, 10, 12 and 15 having significant tiers. Further, greens were fairly large, and each seemed to have multiple tee placement areas even given the impact of tiers. Bunkers throughout the course were relatively deep and both fairway and green side bunkers included multiple tongues all of which were bordered by tall / fine fescue grass creating a very nice design feature. There was also a notable energy at this Club in light of the results of the renovation, and the playability and challenge of the new course. It was also very interesting to learn and see the number of walkers at this course. There were approximately 350 golf members of which approximately 80% walk the course. This was clearly evident on date played as no golf carts were noted during our entire stay at the course."

“Architectural abomination. A very nicely conditioned track that costs a ton of money to join. I'd almost prefer not to play golf - almost."
