Overview
This Tom Fazio design is an aesthetically pleasing desert layout with generous fairways that play gradually tighter the farther you hit it. The deep-green fairways sharply contrast with the imposing bunkers and lurking Sonoran desert. The greens are quite large and undulating, allowing for a variety of hole locations and requiring a deft touch. Mirabel’s conditioning gets consistently high marks from our panelists.

“Good variety of hole layouts including variety of par 3s that play uphill and downhill in three directions. Par fives have good variety of recovery options including short-grass runoff areas, rock outcroppings and bunkers of varied depths. The site is spectacular high-sonoran desert with lush vegetation but, with the exception of the par 5 seventh and the short drivable par 4 fifth hole, there are limited strategic lines of play or risk-reward opportunities."

“Mirabel is a strategically compelling desert golf course in North Scottsdale with a variety of unique and distinctive holes. Greens are often situated at dynamic angles vs. the fairways which adds strategic interest. Highlights include the short par-4 3rd where the plateau green runs front left to back right and the brute of a par-4 4th with a bailout short right but very difficult pin long left. Other interesting features included the internal contours on the short par-3 6th and 11th holes. Course conditions were excellent and the desert scenery was a treat."

“Mirabel Golf Club offers a nice desert golf experience in North Scottsdale. The course features wide fairways off the tee, but natural desert, elevation changes, and strategic bunkering reward thoughtful shot placement. Approach shots are important, as the greens are firm and subtly contoured, favoring controlled iron play. Risk-reward opportunities are well placed throughout the round without feeling forced. With excellent conditioning and mountain views, Mirabel provides a fun and strategic round in a private desert setting."

Mirabel is a private club that does a wonderful job maintaining this aesthetically pleasing track that runs through the high-desert. Large fairways and greens provide for good levels of playability and fun. The conditioning of the course is excellent and the natural beauty makes you forget that this is located within a gated housing community. Fairways can be inconsistent due to the amount of water needed to adjust to the hot summer weather. The greens are firm but receptive and the roll is true throughout the course. This is fun golf course to play especially with the abundance of natural wildlife that you will likely see though out your round."

“Tom Fazio course in residential development that opened in 2001 and has matured well with homes not in play. Wide driving areas to generally large greens with numerous well contoured sections requiring accurate approach shots. Well bunkered both fairways and greens and greens surrounds providing additional challenges. Course was very well maintained."

“Located in North Scottsdale, this private Tom Fazio, 2001, par 71 course plays 7147 from the tips. It’s a beautifully maintained desert course with white sand bunkers, large greens and gently rolling fairways and notable par 3’s. The course is highly aesthetically pleasing and the holes require you to properly place your drives in order to set up good scoring opportunities. The service is top notch"
