“Apache just re-opened after being shut down for 4-6 months. The course is in wonderful condition and the club has decided to keep it as "cart path" only for the next 3-4 weeks. Lush / thick rough awaits a mishit shot. The day that I played the rough was cut to host a major championship! Fairways rolled firm but not overly fast since they were still applying more water than normal to help the new grass take hold. The greens were rolling at 10 the day I played, and were true throughout the course. Apache is more "Parkland" style but without the tree's. Desert cactus and other native plants make this a must to stay in the playing areas. Larger fairways allow for the higher handicapper to enjoy the round on missed shots, and there is plenty of recovery available throughout the course. A typical Jack N. course with too many bunkers for my taste, but they are all in great condition and play consistent around the course. Apache is NOT the most challenging course at DM but it does provide beautiful aesthetics / views from pretty much every hole. Wonderful conditioning and decent layout variety will keep every level of player entertained."

“Always in good shape--and a beautiful driving range--but the least interesting of the Desert Mountain Courses."

“My least favorite course at Desert Mt. It also seems to be the least cared for course as well."

“A very playable course with limited elevation change as compared to the rest of the courses at Desert Mountain. Wide fairways make your tee shots easier and playable. Limited target golf on this course and it tends to be more parkland. It is always in good condition with quick greens that are not easy to read. A good driving range and practice facility."

“Great club with first class amenities and food. Apache is the easiest of the 6 DM courses."

“Fun Nicklaus design. Not as tough as the other courses at Desert Mountain but still a good desert golf experience."
