Padraig Harrington will join Captain Luke Donald as a vice captain next year at the Ryder Cup in Ireland.
He’ll join Edoardo and Francesco Molinari as Europe attempts to win its third consecutive cup. The three-time major champ is one of Ireland’s most decorated athletes and played in the Ryder Cup in Ireland in 2006. He was previously a vice captain three times and the captain in 2021 at Whistling Straits.
“I've been around Pádraig in many Ryder Cup team rooms, as a player, as a vice captain to his captaincy, and he's been a vice captain before in the past as well,” Donald said. “So he brings a wealth of experience, and I do love the fact that there's a connection. He understands the Irish crowds and all that goes with having a Ryder Cup in Ireland. I think it's going to be very special for him.”
