You can win a free Callaway driver during the U.S. Open. Here's how

Phil Mickelson will be the sentimental favorite for this year’s U.S. Open at Winged Foot. Because fans would love the five-time major winner to avenge his defeat at Winged Foot in 2006, sure. Also, they want a free driver.

Dick's Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy and Callaway (Mickelson’s club sponsor) are teaming up for a U.S. Open promotion. Customers that purchase a Callaway driver through Sept. 16 will receive a chance to get the club for free if Mickelson, or any Callaway staff member, wins the second major of 2020.

There is a catch. Besides buying a driver, customers also have to pick which Callaway staff member they believe will triumph at Winged Foot. Some of the higher-ranked players in this group include Xander Schauffele, Marc Leishman, Kevin Na, Henrik Stenson, Danny Willett, Kevin Kisner and Matt Wallace. Schauffele, who has finished no worse than T-6 in his last three U.S. Open starts, has the best odds among Callaway players, listed at 20/1.

Should a customer’s pick win, they will receive a $500 gift card to cover the expense of their driver purchase.

The 2020 U.S. Open begins Sept. 17. Gary Woodland is the defending champ.
