Winds are picking up

RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIF.-  A sheet of clouds is hanging over the mountains west of the Coachella Valley. "Dinah Shore used to say they were resting like a mink stole on the shoulders of the mountains," says a colleague from the Desert Sun. "And when they did, you knew the winds were coming."
