DIAMONDS ARE A GUY’S BEST FRIEND

Kim doesn’t change clubs on a whim, so it was notable when he switched to Callaway’s Quantum Triple Diamond driver earlier this year. Better performance on off-center strikes led to the upgrade, and he improved from 30th to 20th in strokes gained/off the tee.

EARLY ADOPTER

As one of the first players to use the chunky Odyssey TRTL mallet, Kim fine-tuned the turtle-shaped head with strips of lead tape.

TEST THE BREAKS

On practice days, this electronic level allows Kim to verify the slope on the greens compared to what he’s feeling with his feet.

MARKING TOOLS

Kim’s ball markers include one from Merion Golf Club, a 500-yen coin and a bronze marker with his name stamped on it.

GOOD MEMORIES

Winner of the Players in 2017, Kim personalized his Callaway Opus SP lob wedge with the tournament logo and year he won.
