Webb Simpson's Winning Strategies On And Off The Course

Webb Simpson is always thinking about what’s next. If he spots a narrower neck even further out, he’ll go for it as long as he sees no bordering trouble. “The best scoring opportunity comes from driving the ball as close to the green as possible,” he says. “It’s a risk-reward thing.” Likewise, when it comes to setting goals each season, he does it in bite sizes by identifying small statistical windows of improvement. “If I finish 61st this year on the PGA TOUR in a category, my goal is to finish top 50 next year,” he says. “I'm not going all the way to ‘I want to be top five next year.’ Let's just get better is how I approach it. My caddie is always watching my stats and knows where I am throughout my bag at any point in the season, so I never lose sight of my goals.”
