Watson still shining

July 23, 2009

Apparently there has been no letdown for Tom Watson after his improbable bid to win the British Open last week. Watson is playing in the Senior British Open this week at Sunningdale Golf Club in Berkshire, England, where he opened with a three-under par 67, one stroke off the pace set by Jay Haas and Loren Roberts.

It would stand to reason that if you're capable of beating 154 of the best players in the world, you ought to beat the seniors. But it doesn't work that way. Last year, Greg Norman tied for third in the British Open and tied for fifth in the Senior British Open.
