Save for later

Just hours before Carlos Alcaraz’s quarterfinal Wimbledon match against Cameron Norrie, the World No. 2 was attempting to finagle a tee time with one of the biggest movie stars in the world. As golf zealots, we have nothing but respect for the Spaniard’s growing golf obsession, but tennis fans may want him to keep his head in the game after watching this video.

As big as Carlos Alcaraz is—five major titles by the age of 22—he’s never starred in a superhero blockbuster. But at the very least, it looks like he’s about to tee off with your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man … something the rest of us can only dream about. Tom Holland has been a golf fanatic for quite some time now (along with that whole acting thing), but it looks like Alcaraz is hot on his heels.

“Tom, I saw that you play golf as well. Good swing!” Alcaraz could be heard saying Holland then takes his shot: “We should play. Yes, yes, we can play whenever you want. Message me and we’ll play.”

This is far from the first time Alcaraz has mentioned golf at Wimbledon. Over the weekend, he revealed that he recently lost a critical rubber match against tennis legend Andy Murray. "I didn't remember playing any matches yesterday," Alcaraz joked. "I have to show up. I have to say he beat me.” He was even spotted practicing his swing while wearing an all-white Wimbledon get-up.

Hopefully, the Alcaraz-Holland tee time goes better for the tennis pro than his Andy Murray match-up. Perhaps this could be the next iteration of “The Match” on TNT. We’re company men (and women) here at Golf Digest. Let’s get this all set up: “Superhero vs. Superstar.” Just print the money now.
