Watch Rickie Fowler take on one of golf's most daunting shots -- cross-handed

April 13, 2016

The 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass' Stadium Course has long given golfers nightmares. Even with a wedge in hand, the island green has proven to be a tough target for the world's best tour pros. Unless you're Rickie Fowler.

The reigning Players champ birdied the famed/feared par 3 an incredible three times during last year's final round; once in regulation and twice in a playoff, the last of which defeated Kevin Kisner. How easy has the daunting shot become for Fowler? Apparently, he needs to play it cross-handed now just to find it challenging.

Check out the unorthodox swing Fowler made on Wednesday during the Players Media Day:

We're not sure where Fowler's ball finished (The Players and PGA Tour will show more video from Fowler's day in the coming weeks), but that swing sure looked good. And again, he swung CROSS-HANDED. Yep, you could say we're totally impressed -- and juuuuust a tad jealous.
