Wake Forest continues to honor Arnold Palmer by adding his initials to basketball uniforms

October 24, 2016

Wake Forest University will continue to honor Arnold Palmer during the college basketball season. The initials of the school's most famous alumnus will be featured prominently whenever the Demon Deacons take the court. Check it out:

Following Palmer's death last month, Wake Forest's football team honored the golf legend in a number of ways. Players are wearing logos on their jerseys, stickers on their helmets, and carrying a flag with Palmer's signature umbrella logo when they take the field for the rest of the season. The school also put the umbrella logo on its athletic fields:

Palmer attended the university on a golf scholarship and won the 1949 and 1950 NCAA individual titles. Wake Forest has a golf complex and a dorm named after Palmer, as well as a statue of the seven-time major champ.
