USC women close regular season at No. 1
Newly crowned Pac-12 champion USC closed out the 2012-13 regular season in a familiar spot: atop the Golf World/WGCA women's Division I coaches' poll. The Trojans earned 17 of the available 19 first-place votes and now prepare to compete in this week's NCAA West Regional as the No. 1 seed at Stanford (Calif.) GC.
Defending NCAA champion Alabama held on to the No. 2 spot in the poll, earning the remaining two first-place votes. The Crimson Tide are the No. 1 seed in the East Regional and have won five titles this season as well, including the SEC crown.
Duke, the ACC champion and No. 1 seed in the NCAA Central Regional, remained ranked third with Oklahoma and UCLA rounding out the top five.

Nova Southeastern was the unanimous choice for the No. 1 ranking in the final women's Division II coaches' poll of the spring. The Sharks earned all 15 first-place votes after winning six tournament titles in nine starts, including the Sunshine State Conference title. They will be attempting to claim an record fifth straight D-II national title during the NCAA Women's Championship May 15-18 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
St. Edward's remained No. 2 in the poll, with Lynn and Rollins holding on to their No. 3 and 4 ranking. Rounding out the top five is Florida Southern.
Three straight victories to close out the spring semester helped Methodist keep its spot atop the final women's Division III coaches' poll. The Monarchs, who received 11 of the 15 first-place votes, will be competing at the NCAA Championship May 14-17 at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Fla., trying to win their 16th straight NCAA title.
Mary Hardin-Baylor received the remaining four first-place votes to keep its No. 2 ranking. No. 3 DePauw and No. 4 Washington U. in St. Louis flopped spots from the previous poll, with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and George Fox tied for the No. 5 spot.
