Northern Island prodigy Rory McIlroy tied for 10th, a warning shot across the bow of professional golf. Now 20, but still a teenager then, McIlroy tied for 20th in the Masters earlier this year. The winner of the Dubai Desert Classic earlier this year, McIlroy looks as though he's potentially the best of a youth brigade that includes Danny Lee and Ryo Ishikawa, Jason Day and possibly even Anthony Kim.
Of the top eight, only Tiger Woods and Soren Hansen played the final round in under par, each shooting a one-under par 69.
David Duval, who tied for second, last had a top-10 finish on Oct. 13, 2002, when he tied for sixth in the Invensys Classic at Las Vegas.
Ricky Barnes, who also tied for second, had never before had a top-10 finish on the PGA Tour.
Lucas Glover was 71st in the World Golf Ranking.
Only seven of 60 players bettered part in the final round and only four shot even par.
