A pitching wedge from 175 yards. Uphill. As if that wasn't spectacular enough, Bryson DeChambeau used the club to hit what could go down as the shot of the 2021 U.S. Open.
While others hit more club (Brooksy Koepka hit 8-iron, by the way), Bryson blasted his wedge onto the par-3 eighth green on Sunday at Torrey Pines and nearly into the hole to grab the solo lead in the final round. Although, "nearly" doesn't even do this justice.
We might need a physics major (ahem) to figure out how this didn't drop for an ace:
What a golf shot. And what a time to pull it off.
With the slightest of tap-ins, DeChambeau moved to five under, one clear of an absolutely stacked leader board. There's still plenty of golf to go as he tries to win a second consecutive U.S. Open, but there's a good chance that shot will be one we're talking about for a while.
