Tyrrell Hatton gives his PING irons the best seal of approval the brand could ask for with NSFW self-chirp

February 09, 2024

Death, taxes, and Tyrrell Hatton ridiculing himself after a poor shot. Only this time, he gave a nice shoutout to the brand of irons he plays - PING.

And believe it or not, despite the NSFW nature of the shoutout, PING might be wise to use Hatton's self-chirp as a marketing slogan. On the 180-yard par-3 fifth hole at Las Vegas Country Club, the Englishman made what he felt was a poor strike of the golf ball, immediately asking for it to "go" and looking disgusted with the ball flight. Then the ball hit a side slope just off the left side of the green and his ball wound up coming to rest about 15 feet from the hole.

Thankfully, David Feherty and the other LIV commentators knew to put a lid on it just in time for Hatton self put down.

"Definitely a reason why I play PINGs for when I hit it that sh-t," Hatton said.

I've never played PING irons, but from my understanding they are quite forgiving. Checks out. Hatton made the birdie putt, obviously.

Hate to give away ideas, but I don't know how PING doesn't use "PING irons, for when you hit it like sh-t." as its slogan. That one's free. Next one will cost ya.
