Two-time heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has a pretty decent golf swing

July 02, 2020

Generally speaking, gigantic professional athletes from other sports struggle with a golf club in their hands. There’s just something about golf that can make even the most elite of athletes look like Bambi.

That does not appear to be the case with Tyson Fury, the two-time heavyweight champion of the world who we last saw fight in February, when he roughed up Deontay Wilder so badly that Wilder’s corner threw in the damn towel. Fury, who stands at 6-foot-9 and weighed 273 pounds for his bout with Wilder, posted a video of his golf swing to Instagram. Not only is it good for nearly 7-foot boxer, it’s really good for a guy who claims he hasn’t played a round of golf in a decade:

Nice hack from the Gypsy King. Is he ready for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am? No, not quite, but he can definitely get it around the course with that move. One thing I know for sure is you won't catch me criticizing this man's swing, even if it was abhorrent. I don't have a death wish.

Hopefully, Fury keeps on swinging, though he'll likely have to begin preparing for part three of the trilogy with Wilder soon. That's set for December 19 in Las Vegas. After that, a spot in the American Century Championship is the logical next step.
