Custom putters from Never Compromise

March 24, 2011

Tired of choosing putters off the rack? Never Compromise now has a possible answer, provided the question isn't about cost. It isn't cheap ($350), though given the customization and quality involved, it shouldn't be.

Never Compromise, the putter division of Cleveland Golf, is calling its new program "My Custom Putter," which allows golfers to customize a putter from the company's Gambler Series.

The Gambler Series has four offerings, each a classic and time-tested design that are being played on the PGA Tour. Boo Weekley has a Gambler Straight putter in his bag. Graeme McDowell is working on adding a Gambler to his arsenal.

The customization available to consumers includes similar elements sought by tour players, including length, lie angle and grip.

The rest are cosmetic options, which aren't necessarily unimportant; given how much time one spends with a putter it's probably prudent to have one that is visually appealing.

Besides paint-fill options, there also is personalized engraving, up to four letters.
