We don't have many details, but apparently Troy Merritt played with Memphis Grizzlies star Mike Conley in the FedEx St. Jude Classic pro-am. And apparently, the PGA Tour pro gave the NBA point guard a lesson in something other than golf.
Before you laugh, you should know Merritt was an all-state high school basketball player in Idaho. Judging by this tweet, though, it seems the 29-year-old golfer's playing days on the hardwood are long gone.
Merritt added this tweet that included a few more photos. Hey, is that hoop regulation height?
Conley shot 39 percent from three-point range and 86 percent from the foul line this past season. If Merritt really did beat Conley in some sort of shooting contest, that might be more impressive than the course-record 61 he shot at Harbour Town in April.
