Tiger's new Nike Ad: Oh, I get it... I think

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Whether you love it, hate it, or want to do your graduate dissertation on it, the new Tiger Woods ad by Nike has at least succeeded in one important regard: generating discussion.

The ad, which features Woods staring glumly at the camera while the voice of his late father, Earl, is played, is a clear attempt at steering the conversation away from Woods' well-documented transgressions, and toward his new path to redemption.

Poignant to some, off-key and even inappropriate to others, there is also a chance it could be confusing to the segment of viewers who might not be clear that the voice you hear is indeed Woods' father.
