Tiger Woods spends Day 1 of his break from golf being a good boyfriend

February 12, 2015

As expected, Tiger Woods went to watch his girlfriend, Lindsey Vonn, compete the day after he announced he'll return to golf when he's "ready." Unlike the last time Woods attended a Vonn ski race, Tiger appears to have all his teeth intact and he has left the scary masks at home.

However, that didn't keep him from doing his best Michael Jordan tongue wag impersonation (Ah, the problems with having your every move photographed):

On Wednesday night, Woods posted a statement on his website acknowledging his scores haven't been "acceptable to tournament golf," but that he does "expect to be playing very soon."

Woods missed the cut at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in his 2015 debut, a performance that included a second-round 82, the highest score of his pro career. In his second event of the year last week at the Farmers Insurance Open, Woods walked off with a back injury after 11 shaky holes.

So far, Vonn has had a disappointing performance of her own at the world championships in her hometown of Vail this week. Hoping for multiple titles, she's only managed a bronze medal in the Super-G.

The skier has had a much better year than Woods in her sport, though, recently setting a record with her 63rd career World Cup win. Meanwhile, Woods has slipped to No. 62 in the Official World Golf Ranking, the lowest he's been since 1996 during his first season as a pro.
