On Thursday afternoon Tiger Woods committed to his first post-Masters tournament, entering next week's Wells Fargo Championship. Making the announcement through his Twitter account, Woods also confirmed he is entered in the following week's Players Championship. The news was first reported by the Golf Channel.

The news is not necessarily a surprise, as many assumed Woods would want a start under his belt before teeing it up at the Players Championship, which begins May 10. Woods has made six starts in Charlotte, boasting a win in 2007 and two other top-five finishes. It will be his first appearance at Quail Hollow since 2012.

In six outings on tour this season, Woods has made five cuts, highlighted by a T-2 finish at the Valspar Championship and T-5 at the Bay Hill Invitational. He joins a Wells Fargo field that features Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler, Jason Day and Phil Mickelson.
