Tiger files U.S. Open entry

April 12, 2010

Tiger Woods hasn't announced his post-Masters playing schedule, but the 2010 U.S. Open is definitely on his radar.

GolfDigest.com has learned that the USGA on Monday received Woods' entry to play at Pebble Beach on June 17-20. Woods won the first of his three U.S. Opens at Pebble in 2000, winning by 15 shots at 12-under-par 272. He later won at Bethpage in 2002 and Torrey Pines in 2008.

Woods, fresh off a tie for fourth at Augusta National, wouldn't comment during the past few days on where he will next play. In recent seasons, his next event after the Masters has been the Quail Hollow Championship the week April 29-May 2, followed by the Players Championship the next week.

Woods has until the Friday before each PGA Tour event to commit for the next week's tournament. And while an entry for the Open means nothing other than Woods covering his bases, it should be noted applications aren't due until 5 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, April 28, 2010.
