Dynamic Duos
This first-time player-caddie combo is making PGA Tour history at the Bermuda Championship (sort of)

Russell Knox is hoping to get a boost from having a friend and former PGA Tour pro on the bag this week in Bermuda.

There's been a lot made of the weak field at this week's Butterfield Bermuda Championship, and rightfully so. The list of names competing is, well, eclectic, if we're being kind. But there will also be a particularly strong player-caddie combo making a bit of history. Sort of.
Russell Knox, a two-time PGA Tour winner, is one of the best players in the field. But his first-time looper, Willy Wilcox, is better than a good portion of those teeing it up at Port Royal Golf Course.
If the name sounds familiar, that's because Wilcox is a former PGA Tour pro who famously aced the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass during the 2016 Players Championship. Wilcox, a winner on the Korn Ferry Tour, retired from competitive golf earlier this summer at age 35.
But he's making a return as a caddie for his friend this week. And he pointed out that they have each accomplished a certain impressive scoring feat that no other player-caddie combo in PGA Tour history can claim.
Both Wilcox and Knox pulled off the feat on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2013. Wilcox's 59 came in the final round of the Utah Championship, and Knox matched the tour's scoring mark at the Albertsons Boise Open just two weeks later.
What does this mean for Knox's chances this week? We'll have to see. But Wilcox is liking the wet and windy forecast for his Scottish friend.
