This photo of Smylie Kaufman and Patton Kizzire as kids is the cutest golf picture you'll see all day
If you watched Sunday's final round of the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, you saw eventual winner Smylie Kaufman doing a lot of watching himself. Finishing more than two hours ahead of the final group, Kaufman spent that time in the clubhouse glued to TV coverage to see if anyone could catch his 16-under-par total. And sitting by his side for most of it was his good friend, Patton Kizzire, who finished a stroke behind his buddy.
It turns out, the two PGA Tour rookies go way back. Way, WAY back. Check out this photo that Patton's sister tweeted of the two as kids:
Aww. And no, Smylie wasn't a slow developer. He happens to be six years younger than Patton. The two grew up in Alabama, and it's nice to see they've remained friends. Well, at least when Auburn isn't playing LSU.
