This Jordan Spieth eagle hole-out is the latest sign he might be 'BACK!'

February 11, 2021

Jordan Spieth sent Golf Twitter into a tizzy last Saturday—and for good reason. The three-time major champ shot a career-low 61 that included 10 birdies. More importantly, it was the first time this season he provided any of his fans reason to be optimistic that he’s rounding back into the form that once made him the best player in the world.

Spieth didn’t wait nearly as long to rile up the masses this week.

The 27-year-old star birdied his first two holes in the opening round of the AT&T Pebble Beach and then holed this wedge from 127 yards on the par-4 10th to quickly jump to four under. Check it out:

Great shot, even better reaction. Nothing crazy, just a big high-five with caddie Michael Greller before putting his club back in the bag and grabbing a water. You know, acting like he’s been there before—because he certainly has.

Golf Twitter, on the other hand, wasn’t able to keep its composure quite as well.

Anyway, it’s just one shot, but it’s the latest sign Spieth, who hasn’t won since the 2017 Open Championship and had nearly fallen out of the top 100 in the Official World Golf Ranking, might be back. Sorry, make that “BACK!”
