SUGAR GROVE, Ill.-- So much is made of the team uniforms during The Solheim Cup that it's only fair to make this element of the competition a match of its own. And just like the golf score, the Americans take the early apparel-race lead with their Friday outfits.
The yanks' royal blue vest/pant combo and cute, ruffle-sleeved shirt (on Michelle Wie, above left) look fresh and fun, and the fit is the best I've seen on the American team apparel in the history of the event. The European garb (on Sophie Gustafson, above right) is sleek and contemporary, if a tad too tomboyish, but the black and white color scheme is just plain boring for this tourney.Â
Score: U.S. 1-up
