The Stanley Cup visits U.S. Open at Oakmont
OAKMONT, Pa. -- The U.S. Open trophy is one of the most iconic prizes in sport. But on Thursday at Oakmont, it wasn't even the best hardware on the property.
Oakmont Country Club resides just miles from downtown Pittsburgh, home of the Stanley Cup champion Penguins. Players from the Pens visited the U.S. Open during Round 1, bringing the Cup with them.
Better yet, the rain delay gave the U.S. Open field a chance to visit with Lord Stanley:
That bad boy is so big you couldn't lose it in Oakmont's rough. We think.
