Robert Streb celebrates winning with his caddie Steve Catlin after the final round of The RSM Classic at Sea Island Resort Seaside Course in 2020.

The PGA Tour heads to Georgia and Sea Island Golf Club this week for its ninth and final event of the 2021 fall schedule: The RSM Classic on St. Simons Island.

Defending champion Robert Streb will attempt to win this tournament for the third time in his career after becoming the first two-time RSM winner a year ago. Streb took down Kevin Kisner on the second playoff hole last November after holding 36- and 54-hole leads. He previously won at Sea Island in 2014. These are Streb's only two victories on the PGA Tour.

Six of the last 11 RSM Classics, including the last three years, have needed a playoff to determine a winner. Meanwhile, each of the last six victors of this tournament will return this week.

The first two rounds of the event are played on Sea Island's Seaside and the Plantation courses, with the Seaside hosting the final two rounds.

At the top of this year's strong field is Scottie Scheffler, who is coming off of a course-record 62 in the second round of the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Houston Open en route to a T-2 finish. The previous week, he posted a fourth-place showing at the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba.

Scheffler and Streb will be joined by quite a few past major champions, including Adam Scott, Louis Oosthuizen, Jason Day, Jimmy Walker, Webb Simpson and Justin Rose.

The winner of this event will earn a first-place check of $1.296 million from the $7.2 million overall purse, and grab 500 FedEx Cup points.
