The most imposing shadow in sports

August 08, 2009

AKRON, Ohio -- Padraig Harrington did not learn that Tiger Woods had moved into second place behind him in the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational until he had completed his round Saturday. His reaction?

"OK, he's in second place, three-shot lead, is that enough? Probably not. Now I really wish that putt went in on 8. I was trying to put as much room between me and the field, but at the end of the day, there's probably never enough room between you and Tiger.

"At the end of the day there is an intimidation factor."
