The Golf Digest Podcast: Peter Malnati on winning his first PGA Tour title, writing a blog, rooting for the Royals, and the secret to putting like a pro

First-time winners defined the fall portion of the 2015-16 PGA Tour season with six of seven events being maiden victories. Peter Malnati was one of those players, capturing the Sanderson Farm Championship and finally earning some job security on the top tour in the world after turning pro in 2009.

Malnati may have had plenty of company in terms of breakthrough winners, but his season has been quite unique. He won a Web.com Tour event with his wife, Alicia, as his caddie in March, then went viral for a failed shot out of a water hazard in August. After earning his PGA Tour card, the affable Malnati cried tears of joy -- when his Kansas City Royals won the World Series. And one week later, he won his first tournament as a big leaguer.

All the while, Malnati, 28, documented his experiences through his fantastic blog (petermalnati.blogspot.com). We talked to Peter about that and everything else that's made 2015 such a special year. Have a listen:
