The biggest star was in the crowd

HUMBLE, Texas -- The Shell Houston Open has a knack for drawing good crowds

and the 2010 event is no exception, aided by the attendance of one rather exceptional spectator.

It's not often a standard-issue tour event has a former President of the United States drop by, but Friday saw President George H.W. Bush, complete in Shell Houston Open cap, making the rounds to watch Phil Mickelson (with whom he had dinner the night before) and Adam Scott hit a few shots and grab lunch at Redstone GC with Fred Couples, Justin Leonard and Davis Love III.

"They're all old friends, all guys we know," Bush told pgatour.com. "One reason it's so much fun is we know them so well. They've all done a lot for the game of golf. They're wonderful people."
