Sungjae Im's status for next week's PGA Championship is unclear after he tested positive for COVID on Thursday ahead of a Korean Tour event.

Im flew to his home country to compete in this week's Woori Financial Group Championship, but was forced to withdraw after testing positive just hours ahead of the first round. This was the first time he was playing back in South Korea since October 2019.

With the year's second major only a week from starting, the 20th player in the World Ranking has a tight window to be cleared to play. And the fact that he is going to have to travel halfway across the world to get to Tulsa's Southern Hills will only make things trickier, depending on what quarantine rules he'll have to follow and whether returning to the U.S. will require a negative test.

Im, who finished T-8 at the Masters last month, is currently listed at 50-to-1 odds to win the PGA Championship on DraftKings. The 24-year-old has five top-10s on the PGA Tour this season, including a second career win at the Shriners Children's Open in October. He's currently 10th in the FedEx Cup standings.
