Stricker considers iron change

April 11, 2010

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Steve Stricker closed with a 1-under-par 71 Sunday at Augusta National GC to finish his 10th Masters at 3-over 291, a disappointment for the No. 2 player in the world who finished T-6 just last year.

Since his victory at the Northern Trust Open in February, Stricker admits he hasn't been nearly as sharp, especially with his iron play. Loathe to make any changes to his equipment in the past few years, the Wisconsin native is now mulling a possible change in irons, to the Titleist AP2 model.

"I've had [them] in the bag over the years," said Stricker, who next plays at the Zurich Classic in New Orleans. "I like the way I hit them, I just couldn't pull the trigger on them and I may do it this time."
