Steph Curry debuts new golf celly during another historic three-point shooting performance
The only thing Steph Curry loves more than draining putts is draining buckets. Needless to say, Thursday night was a good one for the NBA’s all-time leading marksman, who combined his two biggest passions while logging a season-high 56 points and 12 three-pointers in a comeback win over the Orlando Magic.
Curry’s unbelievable evening included a three-quarter-court buzzer beat to end the first half followed by a scintillating third quarter in which the 2023 American Century Championship winner outscored the entire Magic team 22-21. That’s when Curry reached for the imaginary sticks, illustrating that his ninth triple of the night was nothing more than a routine chip shot. Check it out.
Honestly Curry’s approach on the court is more flop shot than bump-n’-run, but we have to give it to him—he makes any shot look as simple as a little 7-iron runner from the fringe. Curry’s performance—the 45th (!) game of his career with nine or more tres—stretched the Warriors’ win streak to five, lifting them to seventh place in the Western Conference. That’s not exactly good news for Curry’s offseason golf plans, but at 36 years old, he’ll have plenty of time to hit the links in the not-so-distant future.
