There's a spectacular Joe LaCava billboard down the street from this week's PGA Tour stop
CROMWELL, Conn. — Few caddies can say they've helped multiple players win the Masters like Joe LaCava, but the list of loopers who have ever been honored in the way Joe is this week has to be even shorter.
Upon driving to TPC River Highlands on Tuesday, I did a double take as I passed a Joe LaCava billboard just down the road from this week's PGA Tour stop. And it was so good that I made the next turn and circled back so I could get a photo of it.
There are so many amazing things about this. The "LFG Joe Joe!!!!!" The fact that the picture used is from LaCava's infamous interaction with Rory McIlroy and Team Europe at the 2023 Ryder Cup. The placement of the billboard next to one for Cromwell Energy.
Oh, yeah. And, again, the fact that a caddie has his own billboard. Pretty wild.
But LaCava is "CT's own" having grown up in nearby Newtown. And as we wrote about a couple years ago after LaCava was hired by Patrick Cantlay, the crowds are happy to see him after a long stretch where he didn't work the Travelers Championship due to Tiger Woods not playing in the event.
Anyway, good luck to Joe this week. Oh, and to Patrick.
