Source: Augusta's range costs $140 million

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Ever wondered what the guests talk about at Tuesday evening's Champions Dinner?

At least some of the time, the answer is money. During this week's festivities, a high-placed club official informed one bemused past champion that the new practice facility is "the most expensive ever built."

Taking into account the purchase of most of the houses off Berckmans Road, the physical construction of the new range and all other ancillary costs, the final bill apparently came to $140 million. Really.
