Song has the greens figured out

April 02, 2010

RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIF.- Amateur Jennifer Song is grinding hard on Friday at the Nabisco Championship. In her first 11 holes, she has missed seven greens and she's two under par for the day, three under for the tournament. There's no ShotLink out here, but if anyone calculated the number of feet of putts the girl has made so far, the number would be astounding.

Song isn't after the title of low amateur; she's going for the trophy. At T-3 and with a hot putter and wedge game, she has every opportunity to get there. Especially since the rest of the field (save for Brit Karen Stupples, who is two under for the day after 14 and shares the lead with Suzann Pettersen, who tees off this afternoon, at five under) seems to be backing up.
