Shane Lowry gets married in NYC, posts romantic photo by. . . a subway entrance?

April 13, 2016

Talk about making the most of a business trip. Just days after recording a hole-in-one during the final round of the Masters, Shane Lowry's latest voyage to the U.S. was highlighted by getting married in NYC. He tweeted this photo with his lovely new bride on Wednesday:

Aww, because nothing says lifelong love and romance like posing by the entrance to a rat-infested subway. . . We kid, we kid. We work in NYC. We love NYC. Just stay above ground as much as possible, you two -- especially if you're going to leave that white dress on.

According to the Irish examiner, Lowry married Irish nurse Wendy Honner, with whom he's been engaged since 2014. Honner was at Augusta National last week as well, caddying for her fiance in the Masters Par 3 Contest:

Lowry was T-2 after opening the Masters with a 68, but he shot 14 over the next three rounds to finish T-39. However, his week ended on a bright note with this ace, which turned out to be just the beginning of the excitement at No. 16 on Sunday:

Lowry walked away from Augusta National with a piece of crystal for that hole-in-one, but he'll leave New York with a much better prize. We just hope the honeymoon doesn't involve too many subway rides.
