Sea Island Resort upgrades its facilities with new performance center

Georgia's Sea Island is a unique golf destination: a premier resort with top-notch facilities that doubles as home to many PGA Tour players (Matt Kuchar, Brandt Snedeker and Zach Johnson to name a few). Already an enticing tourist spot, the site of the PGA Tour's McGladrey Classic has added a state-of-the-art performance center to its list of attractions.

Resident tour pro Davis Love III, with instructors Todd Anderson and Jack Lumpkin and Sea Island president Scott Steilen, cut the ribbon on a new facility last month. The Sea Island Golf Performance Center now offers an indoor putting lab, five covered hitting bays and an expanded state-of-the-art golf-fitness area.

Full-day programs start at $980 and include a total of five hours of instruction that incorporates fitness, long-game and short-game work. The standard rates for lessons from one of Sea Island's staff of instructors range from $125-$400 per hour for resort guests.
